What Are The Eight HYROX Stations?

HYROX has taken the fitness world by storm - combining endurance, functional strength and pure grit into one epic challenge. The format is simple, but brutal. You run 1km, complete a workout station and repeat the sequence eight times. By the end, you’ve run 8km and tackled all of the eight different HYROX stations.

Training at Le Coach gym in Cambridge means you’ll have access to the elite equipment and expert coaching needed to prepare for such an intense fitness event.

HYROX Workout Stations

Station 1: SkiErg

The first station is a 1000m SkiErg, testing your upper body pulling power and cardio endurance. While Le Coach doesn’t specifically have a SkiErg, you can build that same explosive strength with our world class range of lat pulldown, pullover and row machines.

Station 2: Sled Push

A true test of leg drive and stamina. Men push 152kg and women 102kg over 4 x 12.5m. Although we don’t have a sled track, our elite leg presses and hack squat machines perfectly replicate the stimulus to develop that eruption of lower body power needed for race day.

Station 3: Sled Pull

This HYROX station loads men with 103kg and women 78kg to drag over 4 x 12.5m, hammering grip, back and coordination. At Le Coach, we’re able to mirror this station with our unique setup of Keiser air resistance machines, heavy rows and versatile cable machines.

Station 4: Burpee Broad Jumps

Eighty metres of burpee broad jumps is one of the most draining challenges in HYROX. To prepare, Le Coach Fitness offers plyometric zones where you can practice box jumps and conditioning circuits to build explosive power and efficiency under fatigue.

Station 5: Rowing

The 1000m row is a grind for the lungs and legs. With a Concept2 rower on the gym floor you can train with the exact machine used in the competition. But we also have multiple row machines for you to build endurance, develop power and fine tune your pacing for race day.

Station 6: Farmer’s Carry

For this HYROX station men carry 2 x 24kg and women 2 x 16kg weights for 200m, testing grip and core stability. At Le Coach, you can train with a dedicated farmers walk bar, as well as a huge range of dumbbells and kettlebells, giving you everything you need to train even beyond the HYROX weight standards.

Station 7: Sandbag Lunges

A 100m walking lunge with a 30kg sandbag for men and 20kg for women is a true test of quad endurance and balance. With speciality weighted sandbags up to 30kg, Nautilus deadlift platform and huge range of dumbbells Le Coach gives you all the tools to master this station.

Station 8: Wall Balls

Every HYROX race finishes with 100 wall balls - 6kg to a 10ft (3.05m) target for men and 4kg to a 9ft (2.75m) target for women. It’s where fatigue really hits, but with Le Coach’s range of wall balls and targets, you can train to HYROX standards and build volume with confidence.
