Why Amateur Boxer Harry Bandoo Trains at Le Coach Fitness

Amateur boxer, Harry Bandoo, trusts Le Coach Fitness to keep his training routine on track and help sharpen his edge inside the ring.

Read on to find out how the gym has helped him get his boxing career off to a sensational start and what advice he has for others aiming for the top of their game.

Tell us a bit about your boxing achievements so far?

I am an amateur boxer, registered and licensed with England Boxing. I regularly compete in bouts and participate in the National Championships.

In 2024, I became the Eastern Counties Junior Champion in the under 54 kg category. So far, I’ve had 11 bouts and competed in three championships.

My most recent fight was on 28/02/25, my first bout at my new weight class of 59kg, which I won.

How has training at Le Coach helped you perform better?

Nathaniel and his team have been a huge part of my journey over the past two years, and in April 2023, Le Coach Gym became my official sponsor.

They’ve provided expert health and nutrition advice to support my weight management, along with a monthly massage session to aid muscle recovery and relaxation. They even built a dedicated boxing area within the gym, complete with battle ropes, a full-size punch bag, and a water bag to enhance my training.

Why is it ideal for young, serious athletes like yourself?

The equipment, without a doubt. Le Coach Gym is the best-equipped facility I’ve trained in, with a huge variety of top-tier machines and gear—all carefully handpicked by Nathaniel himself. Everything is well-maintained, and any broken equipment is quickly replaced, ensuring the gym is always at its best.

Beyond that, the staff make a real difference. They’re friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely supportive. When I first joined at just 15, I was the youngest person in the gym, but they made sure I felt welcome and, most importantly, safe. To this day, that level of care and support hasn’t changed.

Which equipment has made the biggest difference for you?

Le Coach Gym has such a huge variety of equipment that it’s hard to pick just one thing that has made the biggest impact. But if I had to choose, the treadmill has been a game-changer for my fitness. No matter the weather or time of day, I can still get my runs in safely, with the support of the gym’s staff.

Of course, the punch bags are a big one too. Since my boxing gym is 50 miles away (a two-hour round trip) I can only train there three times a week. But with Le Coach just a five-minute walk from my house, I can keep up with my boxing training on the days in between, which makes a huge difference in my overall progress.

How does the gym environment push you to the next level?

I’m not a bodybuilder or powerlifter, but at Le Coach Gym, that doesn’t matter—everyone is welcome, no matter their sport or goals.

The atmosphere is incredibly supportive, and training alongside dedicated athletes from different disciplines is really motivating. There’s a strong sense of community, and people genuinely care about each other’s progress. After my bouts, there’s always someone asking how I did, which makes me feel like I have a whole team behind me, not just in boxing but in the gym as well.

What would you say to young athletes chasing a pro career?

Simple, Le Coach Gym can help you make it happen.

Never give up, and always push beyond your own expectations. You’re far more capable than your mind might lead you to believe.

Training at a professional level takes serious hard work and dedication. If it were easy, it wouldn’t be as rewarding, or worth it.
